How to Turn Your Bedroom Into a Christmas Wonderland in 5 Minutes
Share
You don't need a weekend, a ladder or ten boxes of decorations to make your bedroom feel like Christmas. With a few small changes you can get that cozy, magical holiday feeling in about five minutes. Here's how.
1. Put the magic on the ceiling
The fastest way to change how a room feels is to change the light. A Christmas tree projector fills your ceiling and walls with Santa, snowflakes, reindeer and stars in red, green, white and gold. Plug it into any USB phone charger, turn off the big light and you're done. It works best in a dark room with light-colored walls.
2. Swap the big light for warm, low light
Bright overhead lights kill the holiday mood. Use a small lamp with a warm bulb or a few fairy lights and let the projector do the rest. Low light makes the projection pop and makes the room feel instantly cozier.
3. Add one soft, festive textile
A red or plaid throw blanket, a pair of Christmas pillowcases or a knit blanket at the foot of the bed is enough. You don't need to redecorate the whole room; one piece of holiday color goes a long way.
4. Bring in a scent
Pine, cinnamon or vanilla instantly says Christmas. A candle (or a flameless one if you have kids or pets) finishes the feeling.
5. Make it a bedtime ritual
Kids love falling asleep under a ceiling full of Santas and snowflakes. Turn the projector on during story time in December and it becomes a little tradition they'll remember.
